Everyone is looking for an example of a website, a template that could make a
million. Here's one I am working on right now, it's for you. If you can follow
what I am saying, have the expertise and equipment to make it happen and
could code this for fun over the weekend you are welcome to the
$$$ :) Imagine a
news site that was intensely personalized.
Content that you were
really interested in, tailored to your needs and habits. It would
use cookies, asp.net controls, RSS feeds and at least 3 database tables (registration/login,
content and user preferences). It would run on an SQL server/Windows 2003 IIS 6
box, coded in ExpressionWeb with custom XML feeds. You simply create one master page that; based on
input
and login information delivers a custom page for each user. A few
snippets of ad code; a few regular updates and occasional monitoring it would
run itself. Perfect. Sounds
simple enough, right? From a "Made for
AdSense" point of view everyone's happy:
- I develop a page
"once" that is different for each user and requires little
maintenance.
-
The user sees something they are genuinely interested that they want to
visit again and again
-
The search engine sees an enormous amount of spider able material with
strong keywords and visitor loyalty.
Like I said, this is a more reasonable long-term
strategy than building a few blind entry pages, hoping someone will click
on the "rent a helicopter" ad on the top before exiting; but
that's just my humble opinion. Back to
